Searched, could find help with this - can someone please help.

Intellisync used to run fine, calendar entries and contacts alway worked without a problem. Connect up today on the usb cable intellisync fails after about 8 or 9 records into the sync.
Error message says unable to get data from an outlook or ms exchange record - lack of network access can cause this problem.
I'm connected to the network, my vpn is running and my laptop outlook client is working fine.
Can someone please help!
