I have a blackberry 8800 and a nosy girlfriend. She tried to get into my phone and I have it passworded. After a while I assume it prompted her to enter blackberry several times to wipe it. She isn't the brightest crayon in the box
and I assume she didn't read what she was doing. Thinking that she could get into my phone she started to enter "Blackberry" over and over to wipe my phone. When I realized what she was doing I grabbed my phone and pulled the battery mid wipe.

After some yelling I got online, downloaded JL_Cmnder, the latest Desktop Manager, and the Handheld OS. I wiped my phone using JL_Cmnder and got my 507 (no OS) error. Then I ran desktop manager and started the Application loader wizard and received this lovely message

"The BlackBerry Desktop Software does not have BlackBerry Device Software for the device you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system admin."

Any and all help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Not having my phone is killing me.

and the Handheld OS.

ok, sounds like you are on the right track. But did you also INSTALL the handheld OS to the PC? Click the exe file to install it. Your application loader should recognize it and begin the install.

I don't know what to tell you on the gf...

I ran the .exe and installed it to my pc and then selected the option to auto-launch Desktop Manager. I then started the application loader, but unfortunately I received the same message.

Locate and delete VENDOR.XML on your PC C: drive.
Locate and replace your girlfriend.
Restart Desktop Manager

Hi simalar problem as above, girlfriend thought she would surprise me by putting on a new theme on my 7100 but unfortunately it wasnt compatible. my phone now keeps rebooting before it reaches the home screen. I have the latest desktop manager and latest phone software but cant get a working copy of JL_cmnder. Can anyone help. The 2 links on this forum i have found both download an empty folder.

Hey squirreluk, you can download Jl-cmder here:
BlackBerryForums.com : Your Number One BlackBerry Community (http://www.blackberryforums.com/attachments/general-blackberry-discussion/10751d1205629761-jl_cmder-jl_cmder-v1.9.0.zip)

You want to remove the incompatible theme if you can, first, before wiping the device totally.
