Missing Calendar Appointments - BES?

I have a BB for my job that is on a BES. I use Groupwise to for my calendar. I have noticed that although I have set my BB to keep the appointments forever, after about 6 months the appointments no longer appear on my BB. However the appointments are still on my Groupwise Calendar. I am starting to think that someone at I.T. has control of how long appointments stay on the BB. Is this possible?
