"Scrubbing" a device, Has anyone heard of this?

I am not talking about a hard reset or java loader wipe either, this is a scrubbing procedure, which can take up to 1hr.

If anyone has seen or knows how to do this, please let me know,

Thanks in advance,

Yes. Go to Options >Security Options >General Settings. Enable Content Protection.

Then wipe the device.

which can take up to 1hr.

It can take a LOT longer than 1 hour depending on the amount of data on the device.

what does Wiping the handheld actually do? Does it get rid of everything on your BB? Then how do you restore the information? From your Backup? Please advise.

Using the security wipe on the BB will simply delete all the personal data on the BB: Contacts, Calendar items, Memos, Tasks, settings. It does not delete applications.

Restore from your backup or syncing from Outlook or other compatible database.

But if you do a wipe with JL_Cmder after enabling content protection you get a "scrubbed" device.

If you do a security wipe after enabling content protection you get an out-of-the box device with apps and no data on it.

Most people shouldn't need to do it this way but many corporate devices are setup this way.
