...no I'm not deaf, but I can't hardly hear the ringtone on my 8700v when its in the sleeve!

I've set it to loud, but it still is quiet compared to my old sony p910i.

Is it down to the quality (settings/recording) of the mp3 or is it the phone itself...

Any advice or fix would really be helpful!

thanks in anticipation of some good advice.....cheers

Look here for extra loud ringtones. Look for the ones ending in "loud"
Good luck. .

thanks for the pointer..and YES, they were louder.

I am assuming it's all to do with the mp3 conversion...am I right?

If so, can anyone offer advice as how to set the 'play' volume higher when building the MP3 file....

Go download Audacity (free download) make a snippet of the track buy cutting it and pasting the snippet in a new Audacity file highlight the track and select "ampilfiy" export it as a MP3 then put it in your phone through your desktop manager software. Wha La louder ringtone.

I use Effects > Normalize in Audacity.

Also there's an online tool http://makeownringtone.com
With default filters it produces ringtones with good loudness.
