So I've done some searching and it's answered most of my questions.

Right now I'm on a Samsung Blackjack from Cingular. I recently purchased an 8800 (in the mail now) and I was wondering if I can just switch the sim card from the Blackjack over to the 8800? Now, I'm pretty sure I can, but my main question is will I get the g3 speed like I had on the blackjack? Or will I not get internet at all? (which will suck because im paying for it now!)

My reasons for ditching the blackjack if anyone is interested:

The trackball on the 8800 is amazing. I have huge hands, so this helps me from not accidentally closing a page like it does on the Blackjack.

Calls will randomly shut down and my phone will randomly shut off.

The buttons wear off so fast, you don't know what you're typing.

The scroll on the side is not sensitive at all, moves too slow.

The flaps that cover the charger hole and the SD card hole broke off the first day.

The calendar is terrible. I absolutely hate it.

I know I'm going on and on, but how about you guys post why you like the BB 8800 so much?

the 8800 is not 3g. And to get internet you *should* get a blackberry data plan, it gives you a great deal more than just Email. The 8800 is rated at over 25 days of standby battery life (compare that feature to your Blackjack) with the included battery. The organizer feature (calendar, contacts, memo, and tasks) are set up nearly exactly like outlook, and makes for easy integration. The device is very solid, at least in my experience, and is much more difficult to break than other devices.

Wow having Outlook or something of that sort is amazing.

So what should I do to get the internet features? I check my e-mail daily, many times a day and people say shooting e-mails through the BB is a lot easier than the Blackjack. So what should I do? Cancel the 3G from ATT and buy this seperate or what?

i would cancel the blackjack data plan and add on the $30 unlimited blackberry data. This allows you to link 10 email addresses to the device (plus you get 1 att.blackberry.net email address). The best part is you dont have to check your email, when you receive an email to your account, it is pushed by the Blackberry Service to the Device. So you know within minutes (instant to 15 on most email accounts) when you receive the email

Wow, that is awesome. I appreciate your help. Getting the $30 plan actually saves me about $20 a month which is awesome. I guess I'll head into my AT&T store as soon as it comes in. Again, thanks.

the $30 is only data, you still need a voice plan

So I have to cancel my family plan, etc, just to switch a new phone? Is that what you're saying? I already have a linked one with my family, I just thought I could keep that voice plan and just change the data plan.

you can keep the voice plan absolutely. You would only need to change the data plan to get all the benefits of the blackberry

Ahh ok, good. Yeah, even changing the data plan still saves me some money. Again, I appreciate it. Take care.
