I've been using my BB for several years now, and the same problem persists. Why don't I get all of the emails on my BB device that I get when I look at my email using Outlook Express 6.0? In other words, if I look at my BB this morning I see 10-12 emails, but when I go to OE 6.0 I see many more. Why the disconnect?

If you are on a BES look for filters. The IT staff may be dumping some to save space. I know i do not get the spam mail, it gets filtered before i even see it on the BB but it's on the Outlook view

What is a BES and where would I go to look for filters?

if you have a corporate BB it usually is on a BES server if not then the carrier you have for service should be able to assist with the BIS server.
Corporate or private?

Ok not having BIS service I have to ask this, does it send from Outlook or is is just the same as BES, both get a copy from the email servers . One to the desktop and the other to the BB server for transport. I remember seeing an option to use the desktop running an email program to upload to the BB service. I still suspect the filtering of spam ( or at least what the servers think is spam ) could be the issue. would be good to know what is not being sent to the BB. Does it look like Spam or is it good email. I ask this because your suggestion referenced Outlook options..

BIS gets new email from the specified mailbox and delivers it to the blackberry. The BIS polls ISP accounts and such (except yahoo, gmail, godaddy) about every 15 minutes. If the email is deleted from the mailbox or downloaded by a email client before the poll by BIS, then that email will not be delivered to the blackberry because it was not there for BIS to get. Outlook is the common email client. But same idea regardless.

Ok so that looks like the issue. Is the poll time something he can set or is it default to whatever the service sets?

Default. What I've read here on BBF is that BIS will poll more frequently if it finds email, and will continue at that higher frequency until it finds the mailbox empty, at which it reverts the the 15 minute period.

By the way, I forgot to add above that yahoo, gmail and godaddy, as well as some IMAP accounts are instant.

If this is the OP's issue, the solution is to leave the email on the server.

I agree. Seems to be the old Leave Mail on Server trick.
