I'm thinking of getting an 8820 to replace my 8300 because of Wi-Fi or keep the 8300 and get an ipod touch.

Thanks for your advises.

depends on your circumstances.

if u want gps also, then the 8820 would be a nice upgrade, but u have to live without the camera.

the form factor of the 8820 is definately a monster in the hand compared to the 8300.

if u are in need of a music player, the ipod touch is definately the best ipod imho.

You will be happier replacing 8300 by 8320: it has everything you like about 8300 plus WiFi.

Get an ipod touch, too.

The wifi isn't all it's cracked up to be unless your at a place where you consistently have no coverage, but have wifi coverage. Otherwise, EDGE (if you're on AT&T is fine for browsing on the 8820. If you are wanting a small handheld to surf the net, I would definitely go with the iPod Touch. I have both the 8820 and the Touch and the browser on the touch in UNREAL. Great media player.
The navagation on the 8820 has been wonderful, though.

Which do you want more, an iPod or WiFi on your BB? There's no right answer with the info you've given unfortunately.

Coming from a Treo the 8820 is much smaller and lighter so I don't mind its form factor, but it's definitely larger than a Curve. I use the GPS more than I ever used the camera on my Treo so that's also a win for me. I sometimes listen to tunes on the BB with my 4GB card but I don't need all the fancy features of an iPod, and I can't stand carrying multiple devices around. I live in Toronto so there's free WiFi hotspots everywhere including my home and office, coupled with no flat-rate data in Canada I get a lot of ROI out of the WiFi.

If I were you I'd try playing music on your 8300, if you like it you might be able to get away with just purchasing a cheap memory card instead of a whole new BB or iPod.
