Hi if anyone can help I have two questions:

1) Is there anyway to eliminate the voicemail message that is sent to your message box when you recieve a new voicemail message? The phone already has a voicemail indicator on it and it's a pain to have to delete or mark them as read.

2) My company does not allow SMS messaging (outgoing) yet I recieve SMS messages from friends occasionally. Is there a 3rd party app that would allow me to SMS back, or a way to install the Blackberry SMS software?

Any help would be great,

LD

oh penguin, youre so negative...

as far as SMS goes, a friend of mine had a nextel 7520 which had no sms support and she was able to use a service called teleflip (www.teleflip.com)

teleflip went something like: you get an sms from a friend, and in order to reply, you email theirnumber@<hidden>...

you could also try emailing their to their sms email, usually something like theirnumber@<hidden> or @<hidden> (for verizon, at least), different domains for other carriers of course...

the cool thing about teleflip is that it didnt matter what carrier the recipient used, teleflip figured it out...

good luck with your bad-news-no-sms 8830...

Regarding the SMS to my mailbox I found dug deep and "separated" it from the messages. It now goes into a different folder. I also changed the profile for SMS messages to no alert.

It's kinda better. But not 100%.

The emailing for the SMS is a possible workaround.

Thanks guys.

oh and if LT, Gates and Rivers were 100% your Pats would be home right now.

Not sure if this is what you're talking about, but try this - from your home screen, go to call logs, then click the menu button (BB logo button just to left of trackwheel), select options, select call logging, select None, then save and exit. That will prevent a notice showing in your messages list when you have a new voice mail. Hope that's what you needed.
