Trying to load desktop manager...

And its not working. It gets to the copying files part and it freezes up about 50% of the way through. I have tried on my own computer and my girlfriends and it did the same thing at the exact same time, on both computers. Any idea why this happens or if there is something else I can do? I want to backup my bb and put some music on it. Thanks for any help.

Sure, what version of DM are you loading? If version 4.3, you might want try backing up to version 4.2, Service Pack 2.

I just bought an 8310 and I was using the disc that came in the box from ATT

I just checked it out and it said it was version 4.2.2. Now I really dont know what to do.

Thanks for your help. I ended up going to blackberry.com and trying to download the DM from the website and it worked perfectly at my girlfriends. I am going to try it at my house tonight. Maybe there was just a problem with the disc I recieved.

Friend of mine had a bad CD from Verizon so it may be a common issue or a bad run of loads. His looked like a RIM CD with a Verizon label. I suspect RIM makes them all.
