When I received my 8700r I downloaded the 4.2 version of Desktop Manager without Roxio. Since I couldn't use it with the old OS, I skipped it. Now I updated my 8700r to the latest OS, and can't find Roxio as a stand alone app to install so I can use the media features like copying an image or sound file. Should I download Desktop Manager 4.2 again and install or go for the latest 4.3 software on my PC? Just wondering if it is buggy and not recommended before I take the plunge. Thanks in advance.

I would consider 4.2 sp2 safe. I have heard members say there are bugs in 4.3

Just my two cents!

If I decided to stick with 4.2, guess I need to download it again to include Roxio. I didn't find the stand alone app on Rim's website.

The 4.2 SP2 release without Roxio is on RIMs website.
Get the one labeled as such:
* File name: Desktop Software v4.2 SP2 without Media Manager (English).exe
* File size: 52 MB
* Date posted: 25-May-07
