Can you provide a bit more information? Ie. Carrier? Sort of issues you are experiencing?

Welcome to the forums too

Fresno, CA....I haven't been getting my emails since late last night. I am on the sprint/nextel network. Did the steps to repair the connection but didn't help at all. Checked my inboxes a few minutes ago and there were over 20 new emails since last ngiht and never made it to my 8130. Also not geting PIN messages. I remember getting emails at around 9pm pst and that was the last I remember.

the title is changed to a more appropriate title. Has anyone having issues called the carrier to see if it is on their end? what is your connection status in the top right corner of the device? for Sprint should be 1XEV in all caps. for Nextel its NXTL in all caps

no data connection. call sprint and tell them you are not receiving data. they may have an issue with the account/plan because of your recent upgrade.

1XEV is back to call caps, does that mean I have data again?

Philadelphia, T-Mobile. I was not getting any emails from any accounts since yesterday evening sometime, but I was busy and didn't have time to check into it. A few minutes ago (1:15 pm EST, 13 feb) I went to the BIS site, clicked "edit" for each mail account, made no changes, then clicked "save." The emails are now flowing to my Curve, about 40 so far.

Just an update. Called tech support and all they had me do was go to options>mobile networks>start provisioning. After that 40 emails shot into my inbox and Web worked fine.

For the last 60-90 minutes, my 8310 here has been showing "edge" vs "EDGE" and I've obviously not been receiving any email. Anyone else seeing this?

Have you looked at Manage Connections, toggled the checkmark on and off, pulled the battery, etc.?

Where geographically?

I'm on AT&T as well. I have had some issues on and off holding EDGE and sending/receiving email.

Same issue here in SF Bay area with ATT. Rep had me do a battery pull and the go into options>Advanced options>Host Routing Table>menu button-register now. I then immediately got 9 backed-up emails. Rep said that there were no known issues but she has had several calls this afternoon and this procedure fixed them all. Seems kind of contradictory to say there are no issues, but to acknowledge that there have been calls that all had the same problem.

Yep, tried all that.

Now JS, I know you're one of those Crimson Tide guys and might be a bit slow, but c'mon. If not from the profile information to the left on my post which I've faithfully filled out, don'tcha think my username kinda gives it away too?

Just sayin... you could be in Itwamba, Mississippi for all I know, today.

Helps to determine if we're talking carrier issue, geographic issue.

Sorry, if I was on the road, would be sure to say. Home here in Dallas today. And, FWIW, EDGE just popped back in a minute ago, and about 10 emails came blasting in. Not sure what's going on. :-o Although I have 5 bar reception, its also going back and forth between GPRS and EDGE today.

JSanders

There have been a few Sprint/Nextel user reports of service up and down, though I have not seen anything official from Sprint/Nextel.

The tech support person I spoke to earlier today had mentioned to me that she had a few calls before me with the same issue. And they were also located in California. Something is up out here. Currently 1XEV is off and on with me. I picked the wrong time to upgrade.

Hi.
Is anyone else experiencing an outage today? I'm on Sprint and users are reporting no service in the Northeast (PA), Southwest (AZ), and some in St. Louis area. I'm in MN and my service is fine. Just wondering if it is just Sprint or RIM again.

Thanks!
Rob

Merging with other connection issue thread - these titles need to stop.

Sith_Apprentice
02-14-2008, 10:18 AM
i think we need to keep the word outage out of the title, unelss its more widespread than this. It scattered connection issues or data issues at best, nothing to do with widespread RIM outages

Here is a reponse from my Sprint Rep: just wanted to verify that the issues you are experiencing are RIM related and will be corrected shortly. RIM is updating some servers and software so these intermittent issues will soon pass.

RIM has nothing about any server updates that I am aware of. I just got off the phone with support and no known issues. Almost Everything that i have seen has been related to sprint/nextel.

Sprint Rep is off the wall - RIM is not updating anything at this point.

Sprint continues to deny responsibility. Here's the latest reply from my rep:

There are several tickets but since it's a RIM issue, its nothing our network engineers can fix. It has to be done by RIM.

Sith_Apprentice
02-14-2008, 12:03 PM
well, since when has Sprint really taken responsibility for anything?
