View Full Version : Shortcut to Help Screen #*HELP# ... ?

I used to use a shortcut from within the Phone app to launch a device help screen with similar, but more detailed, info to what is on the Status screen. For the life of me I cannot remember what the dial pattern is:

#*HELP#
*#HELP#
#*HELP ...

Can't get it working. I'm wondering if this feature has been removed from the new OS builds and I'm just dialing needlessly looking for something that's not there.

Does anyone recall that dial pattern?

Or, could someone with OS 4.1 or earlier try a few variations to see if it launches on your device?

(I could have sworn it was #*HELP#)

No, I was looking for a different screen. I found it:

In the phone app press #HELP* and press SEND.

Gives different information.

Pffffttt.
That number is AT&T Roadside Assistance. If you dial it, you get AT&T, not a more detailed help screen. I just tried it.
If you get a help screen, please post what it gives you, or better yet a screen shot?

I can't speak for AT&T users but on devices I've used you get a screen titled "Staus" with the following info listing:

Phone Number
Device ESNhex
Device ESNdec
Device BBPIN
Technology
Language List
Device Software Version
Model
H/W Version
PRL Version
ERI Version
Current SID
Home SID/Home NID
BlackBerry Home SID
Network Scan Mode

I'm 99% sure I've done this on Rogers HW in the past. Here's a screenshot from a Sprint 8703e ... dammit ... now I'm going to have to go find a GSM device to test that one ...
