I have been on the phone w/ AT&T all day today trying to resolve this problem. My phone will not let me access the internet or send PIN messages, even though I have purchased a blackberry data plan for the phone. Is there a simple way to solve this that anyone knows of, or do I need to go down to an AT&T store to get this figured out? (talking on the phone w/ them for an hour produced no results...and then the phone I was on disconnected...yay....and I haven't called back :)

Thanks :)

Welcome to the forums.

AT&T should be able to resolve this on the phone. Not sure why they can't.

Was it working and now it is not? Or new blackberry and new account?

I agree with JC. This can be dealt with over the phone and there should not be need for you to go into store. Maybe you need to talk to another CSR.

I just got the phone, but I've had At&t forever. We got the blackberry data plan, and that was supposed to effective the 22nd. When I put my husband's sim card into my BB, we are able to access the internet and everything. It's just not working w/ my sim card. We have a family plan, so it should be working....it's just lame .

Cute dog, by the way, aiharkness. we have a rot too! His name is hercomorre

A family plan doesn't include a BB data plan on both accounts. You need a BB data plan on your account, too, if you want it to work with your sim card.

Not lame!
One BlackBerry Data Plan per SIM card.
And they know that at ATT
Good luck.

Sounds like JC nailed the issue. The blackberry data plan is on the 'line' and not on the device.

My avatar is a dobe. Lost him in Oct to DCM.

That is true. The BB plan needs to be on that phone. Otherwise, what just happened is typical. There are ways to get partial functionality of the berry with out the bb plan. Call your provider.
