Can't sign up for email, pin already registered

I bought a factory reconditioned 7290 from ebay, I live in Australia and got data working with telstra, however I can't sign up for the email as the pin is still registed on another network (vodaphone). Telsra told me to get the previous owner to de-register bur as the phone is reconditioned who knows who owned it before!

They told me something about allow tables too.

Can anybody help here?

I guess your only option is to call Vodaphone and plead with them to release the PIN of the phone you purchased. Otherwise, your only recourse is via Ebay to the seller.
