Hello,

I am often in areas at work with no signal and my Blackberry keeps searching for network.

This drains the battery very quickly. Is there a way I can turn the phone off so I can still use the "PDA" features (calendar, task etc) without draining my battery?

Thanks!
Ethan

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Turn the radio (wireless) off.

go into the manage connections icon or the wireless on/off and turn the wireless off.

Since your profile says 8820, you can map manage connections to one of your side keys since it sounds like you will use it often...

I can't speak for the rest of the universe, but I keep hitting the side keys by accident when I'm removing the BB from its holster or returning it. Mapping "Connections off" to one of them would be a big mistake for me. YMMV.
