Greetings all.

I would love to test this myself, but my router and Wi-fi card don't get along too well (yellow).

I'm just curious to see if I can use my RAZR for voice (with my sim) and still answer emails through my wi-fi card.

Thanks.

yes, you can get data on the device with just WIFI, no SIM card. no voice on the 8820 without one, for obvious reasons, but data is data. you wont get push email, but you can go to your login website and get it.

My experience is no. As long as the card is in there it works even with the phone portion turned off. I took the card out and it never quite initializes. Now the Iphone is a different animal.

I can get my wifi browser to work with my sim card removed on my 8320. It works fine--but just for browsing.

I can't - with 8820.

Make sure you're using the wifi browser when no sim card is inserted.

My 8820 refuses to establish WiFi connection without SIM card in device. 8320 may be a different animal.
