My BB says there are 1751 contacts but only about 400 are listed.
I've checked that there are no filters and there is plenty free memory.
Anybody know how I can get them to show?

the contacts in your device address book?

Yes.
Some synch'd from Outlook, some added directly to device.

when you are in your address book. click the menu key and go to filters. is anything check marked?

where are you checking that you have 1700 contacts on your device? in the address book options? or the device database options?

tell me what you get from this. go to

OPTIONS->STATUS

then hit the menu button and select "database sizes" what does it say next to address book?

are you sure you followed what i said? once you get into the status screen, you have to hit the blackberry menu key and then there should be an option for database sizes

ok try this. go into address book and click the menu key and go to filters. you should have 2 check boxes, personal and business.

first put a check by personal and tell me what you see.

second put a check by business and tell me what you see.

Did that and problem persists.
Can only think there is a setting that I've overlooked, either on the handset or in Outlook.

If you don't have any filters set, and a hard reset didn't correct the problem, then I not sure.

Is this blackberry on BES? If so, ignore me.

If you are on BIS (or no data plan) and there are actually 1751 contacts in your address book, then I suspect your address book database is boogered somehow someway. If it were me, I would use desktop manager (see the advanced section in the backup module) to delete the address book data base on the blackberry, then re-sync from Outlook. That's me.
