Good morning everyone...I am having some serious issues with my blackberry 8700g (OS v4.21) on the t-mobile network...my phone keeps restarting when I use the browser, OZ messenger, googlemaps - basically anything that requires wireless/phone service...i turn off the wireless and the phone works fine. On occasion, the phone restarts when I am talking on it. I feel that it only restarts when the phone is struggling to get a signal or is strained by getting information wirelessly whether it be for data or for regular phone calls.

I tried to do a hard reset by pulling the battery out, but almost after it finishes validating security and software it restarts again...any suggestions? Many thanks

How would I reload the OS? Do I need to wipe it clean?

Many thanks, I'm going to give this one a shot and see what I come up with

I was one of the unfortunate ones too. I think that the new OS somehow messes up the battery. I ended up getting a Curve. When I put my old battery from the 8700 in the Curve it cut off too...even though the battery indicates a full charge. I bought a new battery for the 8700 and gave it to my 17 year old. I haven't heard a complaint from at all yet. I am texting her her right now just to double check my theory.

Wirelessly posted (8700g)

A battery going bad is likely just that, and not likely caused by OS upgrade. I can say I've been on 4.2 on an 8700g for a long time now with no problems on this scale.

To the OP, I believe JS is right. That is the best course of action. I hope it fixes things.

Theory busted...(n) She says that it still cuts off. She just hasn't complained.

So another theory could be a battery problem? I do notice that after a hard reset the battery gets drained...often from a 95% to 65%, but today after a second hard reset it jumped from 65% to 85%...I don't know what to think! Suggestions?

Many thanks.

BIG PROBLEM:

I wiped the blackberry using JL_Cmder and now it gives me this message when I try to use the loader to install the OS...it gets up to Wait for Device initialization...reconnecting to JVM:

"Unable to reconnect to the device during a multi-stage load operation." Please help!

Is your BB plugged in through a USB hub? In any event, try a different USB port - it may be a voltage issue.
