corporate email on the higher one (Connection to a BES) i believe. the lower plan is the consumer plan. unless you are linking to a corporate server you dont need anything more than then $30

call verizon and ask to be put on the unlimited BIS data plan for 29.99. only 10mbs of usage a month is nothing. i used over 75 mbs last month alone.

yea then they are totally ripping you off. the ONLY reason you would need to have the 44.99 data plan from verizon is for BES traffic only. if you are just using BIS then you ONLY need the 29.99 plan. 8-)

Don't feel like an idiot! The carriers do a terrible job of describing the applications for plans! Enjoy your lower bill! :)

Verizon changed a bunch of their price plans at the beginning of the month, they may not be offering the $29.99 plan anymore.

EZ, So far I have used 1.8 Gb this month :p

lets say it this way. out of all the carriers, verizon has the least experience in the blackberry field. verizon is just starting to get up-to-date with the blackberry services. their tech reps dont know squat about them and 95% of the time they just transfer you to RIM. so dont feel bad, just call verizon and complain and say the rep that setup your plan lied to you and your very very unhappy with verizon service right now and i bet they will credit your account for the overages and maybe a little incentive too 8-)

Well the worst part is they didn't do it all as one ticket, so they could just cancel it out, so they removed it from one blackberry, then told me about the rate change, and couldn't put it back the way I had it as it wasn't an option anymore. Boy was I hot.

Yes, can't wait to see how it plays out. I betcha if you called and complained enough to a CSR and use the magic word, "Cancel," they will transfer you to the retention team, and you could probably get them to give you a credit in the amount of a puck.

lol thats funny you say that because verizon was sending me spam mail and i called up and told them i never gave them permission to send me emails of solicitation. i talked to a csr and said so what is verizon prepared to do to correct this issue. he goes, well i have removed your email off the solicitation list and i credited your account for one free month of service. 8-)

Oh yea, they want to make sure they keep their customer count up, so they will do anything to avoid losing them. Once with Sprint I was so pissed because my phone broke, and they had somehow "lost" my insurance information, AND it was a spending limit account, they had no way of being able to send me a new free phone, I ended up with $380 worth of credit on my bill.

Especially considering I got a "Like-new" phone on e-bay for $30, and obviously ended up leaving them anyway. Used some of my credit to cancel out the ETF.

How do you check how much MG you've used on your BB?

Is there a way to check from your phone?

well because data use changes every month, unless you have an actual program that monitors data usage, then its not normally saved on the blackberry. however with verizon is you dial #DATA then a text message is sent to your phone with current data usage.

or he could just install the soft reset program and then save that battery door from breaking from all the battery pulls

You can monitor data useage by downloading minimoni! Which can be found in the after market software section here on BBF

yea but that can be faulty as in your relying on a program to monitor the data usage, whereas the carrier is the one who will be charging you for your data usage. so if the program fails or glitches for any reason and says less data has been used then what the carrier is charging you for then what? :-o
