at&t plan ????

Okay I am about to get the blackberry pearl phone. I would like to use the usb cable to connect to my laptop. At&T offers two blackberry personal plans. One that is 35.00 unlimited and another that is 65.00 bb personal w/ tethering. I have read on here that if you have the first plan for 35 and you tether, you dont get charged any extra money. Is this true????? Or do you have to have the second plan to be able to connect to the internet via usb cord? Please let me know if you can and thanks in advance.

the tethering plan is required by the carrier for tethering and not to get extra charges. you can connect to the net with the personal plan, but if they decide you are tethering you will get charged for all that data. to be safe, just get the tethering plan. welcome to the forums.
