IMAP vs OWA

I can access my work email via IMAP or OWA. I currently use OWA would there be a benefit of changing to IMAP.

Does anyone know the differences.

my imap account syncs sent items, read items, etc...however, my owa only syncs read items (if i read it on my BB, it is marked read in owa...if i read it in OWA, it IS NOT marked read on my BB)...

i prefer my imap acct....

with imap if you read it on your pc it does no mark it as read on your bb
