I was having problems with setting up my laptop for tethered data and as a result had to uninstall the blackberry desktop software v 4.3. In my attempt to fix the problems that I was having, I downloaded and installed:
BlackBerry USB and Modem Drivers (English)
* File name: BlackBerry USB and Modem Drivers (English).msi
I also downloaded and tried to install:
Desktop Software v4.3 b25 without Media Manager (Multilang)
* File name: Desktop Software v4.3 b25 without Media Manager (Multilang).exe
When I try to install the above file, I get the following message under the Install Shield Wizard:
"InstallShield Wizard Completed
The Wizard was interrupted before BlackBerry Desktop could be completely installed.
Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again.
Click Finish to exit the wizard"
Currently, my computer has, in the icon tray by the computer clock, an icon for BlackBerry Device Manager showing that it is running. The settings for this show that COM3, COM4, and COM5 are all disabled.
My control panel shows that BlackBerry Desktop Software v4.3 is installed, however when I try to change/remove this software I get the following error message in the Windows installer box:
"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is currently unavailable.
Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'BlackBerry Desktop Software.msi' in the box below."
I no longer no what I should be doing to install the desktop software. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
