How to select EDGE on 8820

Hi

I got a 8820 on Orange with BIS yesterday and i know that orange have an edge network as its worked on previous phones ive had in the house. But i cannot seem to find a way of selecting edge on the phone as i only have GPRS on the screen.

Can anyone help

GPRS or EDGE is good for BB services. You cannot select it, your bb will receive it when you are within range and receiving that signal.

Well on my last phone i had edge in the house but on this blackberry im only getting GPRS what could be wrong, plus at work i dont get edge on the bb either

You are going to have to contact your carrier. There is no way to select GRPS or EDGE.

Edge in small letters means calls and texts only no BB services you need GPRS or EDGE in capitals. Signal strength depends where you live I guess. I live in N Ireland and my phone alternates between GPRS & EDGE but by and large it is GPRS. Everything works fine.
