Ok, so i have an 8320 and am going nuts trying to get it running again.

I do not know what caused the error, but i have an error JVM 543. Searched around, and the fix is reloading the OS. So i download the TMo 4.2.2.180 OS, and run the Application loader. All goes well so it think, until it's done.

A fatal error has occurred while updating your device's software. Please try again.

Unspecified error encountered [J:0x00000005]

Then the device goes into a constant reboot.

Ok, so i try to use Jl_Cmdr, but it won't connect, which i figured, because of the constant reboot.

Then i open a command prompt, and run the C:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader> loader.exe \nojvm

This connects, so i load an OS to it, and start from the beginning again, with the 543 error.

i then use Jl_Cmdr and wipe the device, and get the JVM 507.

Yes! thats what i'm thinking now, as 507 means no OS.

I delete the Desktop Manager, delete all the Handheld OS, and download 4.2 SP2, and a fresh 4.2.2.180.

When i load the OS, it goes through the motions, and gets to the final screen, and starts rebooting, and pops up the

Unspecified Error all over again. As soon as i unplug the BB from my PC, it comes up with JVM 543 and when i plug it back in and try to run the application loader, it says A Fatal Error loading the software has occurred. Please try again.

Then i wipe with Jl_Cmdr, and get JVM 507. and so on and so forth.

I have also tried loading the OS with the battery out, loading the 4.2.2.184 OS.

The Desktop Manager recognizes the device, and says Connected to PIN: xxxxxxxx, its the devices PIN, i just dont remember it off the top of my head.

Please, help. I'm going nuts with this..

I don't know if this would help but did you try loading DM 4.3? I mean, at this point, it's worth a shot

I had DM 4.3 and OS 4.2.2.184. Then i was having these issues, and uninstalled DM 4.3 and OS 4.2.2.184, and loaded the DM 4.2 SP2, and the original TMo OS 4.2.2.180 to see if that would do anything at all. Same issues no matter what.

Are you using a hub for your USB. Direct connection to the PC please.
