Hi, I am looking at getting a blackberry, I am with Bell Mobility and I was wondering which networks were compatible with Bell i.e. MTS,ALLTEL,SPRINTetc. I didn't want to purchase a bb and not be able to activate it on my network.

welcome to the forums. currently CDMA devices are not required to be unlocked. so to get yourself a device, get a Bell device. the others you will be wasting your money on.

Thanks for the reply. I am looking at BB's on ebay as they are alot cheaper than in the store. So a BB that is branded to a service provider will only work with that provider?
or are they compatible with other providers?

CDMA blackberrys are different. in many cases they cannot be unlocked for use on other carriers. if you had Rogers, you could use just about any GSM berry, but your are on CDMA, and have limitations on what device you can use. to avoid wasting money i would recommend just using a Bell berry

Craig -- I suggest you try shopping around. I got my Bell BB Pearl 8130 for $10 on a promotional deal at a mall kiosk. If you can wait, similar deals may be coming along, esp. with new BB models being released this summer...

Good luck!

Also, read the FAQ on buying a used BB on ebay.

DEFINATELY read that FAQ before you buy anything. Here it is:

And welcome to the forums.

Another thing...

If you're near a Factory Direct store, they sell Bell Blackberry units. 7250, 7130e and 8703e I believe. I saw them in a couple of different locations.
