View Full Version : Battery Reset/Clear?

I've tried searching for this, and might not be using the right terms...but...

At one time I either read or had a T-Mobile tech support person tell me I could reset or clear the battery by doing a procedure that involved plugging the unit into the wall charger several different times for a specified length of time.

This was supposed to help the battery charge better and retain a longer life.

Anyone know what I'm talking about, or am I just crazy? :)

Some say a discharge to 10-15% three times in a row, recharging totally to 100% each time will help keep your battery conditioned. Look in our FAQ at "Maximize your Battery life"

Lithium Ion batteries do not need any special procedures or conditioning, and on the contrary, absolutely love to be plugged in, charging, while your handheld device is idle. Anything else sounds like a myth.

Not a myth, mithster.

It helps the BLACKBERRY reset its internal battery meter which show percentage of charge. Not the battery actually being conditioned, however I stated that as it is much easier to explain. True the Li-Ion batteries don't need conditioning.
