I am considering the 7100g vs. 7290. I like the 7100g style and color screen but have read some old threads that weren't so positive (poor readability outside, etc). I'm hoping that with a few months of use and some new software, things have changed. I thought the screen is the same size on both just one is vertical and the other horizontal. I guess I need input as far as viewing websites. Is it better with one than the other? I work with different companies that have lots of frames on their websites. A friend has the 7290 and has trouble with some sites.

Thanks for the help.

I just exchanged my 7100g for a 7290 and have absolutely no regrets.

In all fairness i would say that if you just want the phone functionality there are alot better products that the 7100g.

If you are looking for phone plus blackberry functionality, the 7290 is the box you want.

my phone call to bb message ratio is about 1/20. If you plan on fingering/typing that many messages the 7290, hands down, is the correct choice..

That's pretty much the logic I used. My phone call to message ratio is 20/1, and of those I read all of them (about 40~50 daily) but respond to only 5~7 - so I opted for the 7100G. Had I had your numbers I would have chosen the same as you...I needed a phone first....
