My friends blackberry 8800 won't sync with his Outlook Calendar or Contacts using DM and Windows Vista. (The contacts are more important than the calendar. Is there a 3rd party app like PocketMac for Mac's that I could try with his PC?

Any other solutions are welcome. When he tries syncing DM just locks up and won't do anything.

Thanks.

Need some more info. What version of Desktop Manager? DM 4.2 SP2 seems to be the best. DM 4.3 is the latest release. Both work with Vista.

What version of Outlook is he using?

AFAIK, Desktop Manager is the only PC product.

If your friend is working with DM 4.3 and Outlook 2000, your friend will have some problems, your friend need to be using Outlook 2003 or 2007 if they are going to use DM 4.3. If your friend is using DM 4.2, your friend can use Outlook, 2000, 2003 or 2007. I had problems not with Outlook since I do not use it to sync with, but just problems with DM 4.3 in general, so I deleted the problem which was DM 4.3 and now I am very happy using DM 4.2. :bb:

I agree with you about DM 4.3...my device stopped wirelessly syncing with my Outlook 2007 when I installed it. So I am going back to DM 4.2. Does it matter which service pack I use?

Personally I downloaded service pack 2 since it seem to be the latest one. I am using it and am very happy with what I am getting from it, especially since it is the latest version.
