I just got my new Blackberry Curve everyone!
And, thanks to everyone who recommended it! Yes, it is awesome. I checked everything - and it works fine. One thing... I was talking to my Dad on it and it suddenly shut off and then turned back on. It is possible I hit a button while talking on it. Does this happen sometimes? Thank you in advance for the help here.

Peace..

What OS are you running on your device? Also, do you have the 8120 and the 8320? (8320 is curve with wifi)

Just asking because the model to the left says 8120. Also, what OS are you running on the device?

I need to change it (I upgraded from the 8120)

It says 4200
it should be 4500?

first rule of troubleshooting, reboot the device (which has been done)
second make sure your OS is up to date with the latest OS (which your does not have)

i might have pushed a button though

would have to be 3 buttons, which is unlikely

That was weird.. I made 2 successful calls.. no problem.. Maybe it was the rebooting?

My 8800 likes to reboot itself frequently. Of course, this is currently my own fault since I have yet to upgrade the OS as I was instructed due to not being near a PC (mac owner here) here at school on which I could upgrade. It gets annoying, but a battery pull usually fixes the problem.

I had this issue with 2 different blackberrys, I called T-Mobile who transfered me to BB support. After wiping the device, reloading the OS and removing the 3rd party apps, I still had random reboots. The sent me another device and I have been in good shape since. I suggest you don't waste a lot of time trying to figure out why because there is a good chance you will never know. Get another device.

I have the same problem and it is driving me crazy. Here is the story: I contacted T-Mobile. They transferred me to RIM. After trying several different fixes (Java reload, security wipe, etc..), they decided that it was a hardware issue and sent me a new phone. But I am still getting the same problem with the new phone. I think maybe I have a bad battery. I hope someone out there has an answer.

Same thing has been happening to me with my 8330. I've taken it back once for an exchange but I still have the same problem. The battery theory might be valid however. Because the battery in the new BB wasn't charged I kept my old one with the new replacement BB. Next time I swap phones I might keep the new battery also.
