I've been checking out the Blackberry's (8310) from bestbuy.com ...

On there I can pick a plan called Blackberry personal 2 year. It says it has "unlimited network and unlimited data".

Does that include Instant Messaging and Texting under the Unlimited data part?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. I've posted on AT&T forums, and was hoping maybe someone in here might know.

Sprint doesn't offer the 8310, which sucks. :( They do offer a 8830, but that does not use EDGE.

May include IM depending on which IM app you use

Some IM apps use SMS -- others use data. That's why you'd need to clarify regarding the IM app you intend to use.

SMS and MMS aren't considered data (though MMS on most BB's requires a BB data plan).

It doesn't suck. The technologies are incompatible. They'll never offer the 8310. Similarly, there's no need for an EDGE 8830 as there are several GSM counterparts in the 88xx series.

Here are the closest equivalents:

at&t - Sprint
8800/8820 - 8830
8300/8310 - 8330

Again, always pick your carrier first.

Uhm... Why not just call AT&T? ...611 is a wonderful number.

I know I barely use it for calling so I got the 39.99 voiceplan, and i think it's like 30 for unlimited internet/data, and then 20 for unlimited texts... I THINK!! honestly i forgot, cuz I had the VU for a week and i had to get used to the rates w/the Mobile TV... but it's just stupid IMO. I didn't need some of those features, and it's setup was impractical...
