Messenger Issues

My friend just got a blackberry pearl (on verizon), and I have an 8800 on att. We added each other on messenger, and she can write me and it appears to work fine on both of our ends, but when I write her it tells her she has a new message (the tone and the icon at the top of the screen), and when she goes into messenger my icon shows yellow to denote a new message, but when she clicks my name my messages never show up for her. on my blackberry it denotes that the message was both delivered and later, that it was read.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? got any ideas on a solution? Thanks in advance everyone.

Tell her to try and delete the contact, then remove the battery with the BB powered on, put it back on after a few minutes, then re-add the contact.
