I wondering if the following is possible:
I am planning to write a custom java app to consult stock lists and customer information from my database wich runs under linux and has a HTTP/SOAP interface.
Now can I connect to the soap server without using the blackberry enterprise server (only compatible with windows-based products) and still have some encryption on the connection. IE can I connect over a vpn connection or use encryption in the soap body?
Or are there some other devices wich are as rigid as a BB and are Pocket PC or java based. In other words is blackberry a bad choice for those needs?
thanx very much.
