I can't receive MMS (i.e. pictures) messages, even from the same carrier (Alltel)? This is so retarted!

Wirelessly posted (my new touch button BB)

Has nothing to with the fact it has no camera. I get mms no problem on my 8800

You should contact your carrier
My guess is it would be the same as activating a SIM card for use with MMS

It works intermittently for me on Bell Mobility.

it works for me on verizon, however, you have to access the mms from a verizon website. I hate having to do it mainly because you can't save any pictures sent to you.

What I did was download the GMail application, and have all my friends send the pictures to my GMail account so that I can view them that way.

Alltel might have MMS disabled for 8830s, Verizon disables MMS for all it's non-camera Blackberrys. It is only enabled for the 8130 and 8330. Same may be the case with Alltel.

That's dumb. Verizon blocks way too much. Mainly pictures =P

On Sprint I get a text message with a clickable link to download the photo. Not as simple as just getting an email attachement, but it works for me.
