Hi,

I am looking at feature benfits to upgrading my BES. I see a feature regarding editing attachments and native file format, but I must have 4.5 on the BB device.

OK Fine, I won't be able to buy a device from Verizon with 4.5 on it for the next 25 years, but whatever....

My real question.....

This is copy/pasted from the BES/Exchange page on the RIM site
Native File Format Download yes
Attachment Edit (.DOC, .PPT) yes

Should I interpret this as .DOC and .PPT will be the only extension types that will be editable?
I find it hard to believe they would leave .xls out.

I've got one user still holding on to his Treo with Goodlink until the ability to edit .doc and .xls is available. (for the one time per year they might REALLY NEED that feature).

Anyway, please let me know if you all know more than what this page is telling me, or know of a better place to look... cuz I can't find anything.
(and please dont tell me to try that Dynoplex crap. Tried that pile of steaming xxx for a couple days and it was off my phone)

thanks in advance

I believe that .xls is coming, though none of the beta's I've seen have support for that yet. It may not be until 4.6 or 5.0, I'm not sure.

Documents To Go will be part of the default installation of Handheld OS 4.5.
At this time, it only includes Word to Go, and Powerpoint to Go.
No Excel yet.
