assuming no liquid damage, what would you all say is the average expected lifespan of the 8703e?

They seem to last as long as the trackwheel. Thats been the biggest 87xx killer.

2-3 years....maybe longer depending on use.

Mine will reach end-of-life in August when it is 22 months old and Sprint will give me a big rebate on a Curve!

Does your nokia do email, pin, instant message, phone, map, web surf, etc.? My guess is one uses a Blackberry much more than a standard cell phone. The standard nokia phone was used for phone and sms only. Think about how many times the trackwheel is pushed on an 87xx device.

i would actually say 1 to 2 years, in our company about 80% of the blackberries died before their 2nd year...
and we have this for about every model....

I have some users who are still using 7100t's from 3 years ago. I offer new BB's to them and many don't want to change.

You guys are making me miss my 8703e, everytime I upgrade to another device I always come back to the 8703e. It's just a flat out great device despite OS 4.2 taking a dump on it....lol.

I almost went back to my 8703e again this morning. But the trackwheel makes my joints in my fingers hurt after prolonged use. (n)
