Hey guys!
Got a 2gb micro sd for my curve. I lnow that it is possible to backup my device to the card, but how do I do this?
I've looked and can't figure it out.
Thanks!!
Use Blackberry Desktop Manager to it backup. Then take the ipd file it creates then copy/paste or move it to the sd card on the bb.

Is there a way to do it on the device when I do not have a laptop with me?

No, it is not possible to backup directly to your media card.

The sticking point is that the backup software does not reside on the BlackBerry, but rather on the PC via the Desktop Manager. Though, since you're with AT&T, they just launched a FREE wireless backup service for BlackBerry users. It stores your backup on their servers. This is real time I believe, so you won't even have to remember to back it up.(y)

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but since the OP's question has been definitively answered ...
... what's this free service you're talking about?
I've tried searching, but I can't find anything about this.

I'm looking for the link now. Unfortunately all I can find is the contact backup service that is 1.99/mo. I may have misspoke, and apologize for that. Lemme see what I can find.
For the moment, that link is AT&T Mobile Backup - Download Instructions (http://mobilebackup.att.com/download_instructions.html)

Well it appears I was misinformed guys... my bad.
The service AT&T is offering is only for your contact list, and is not free. They have it for $1.99/mo.

I do know that Asurion was testing this market for an OTA backup/sync about six months ago, I went through a user market research project with them, but AFAIK, nothing has come of it to this point.

Definitely install DM and backup/sync to your PC though.
