I'm from Thailand and I brought a used blackberry 8320 curve. However, I can't register on BIS service of my country because they said someone already registered this imei. I want to un-register BIS service provider and I found this forum http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-blackberry-discussion/28813-un-register-cingular-bis-web.html But the problem is I don't which service provider my phone is. I guess it's orange because I saw orange logo when I turn on, is it?

How can I contact orange service provider?

Thank you

You've got to contact whoever sold you that device...

you *might* and i repeat *might* be able to get Orange to release it directly if you call them. It all depends on if the original user has registered whatever new device onto their account

Wirelessly posted

Do a google search for Orange uk then look for a 'contact us' link.

Someone has released the pin for me, but I still can't register with my service provider in Thailand (BlackBerry Internet Service (http://www.aiscorporatemail.blackberry.com/)). But orange UK website lets me register their service provider (https://bis.eu.blackberry.com/html?brand=orangeuk)

Anyone can recommend whether I'm released or not?

Thank you

Do you have a Blackberry data plan with your carrier?

Do you have a Blackberry data plan with your carrier?

What do you mean by blackberry data plan? You mean the service provider which offer blackberry service in my country?

I have AIS and True but I can't register.

Thank you

Sounds like the Blackberry is locked to Orange. If this is true, you have to get it unlocked before you can use it with anyone else.

Sounds like the Blackberry is locked to Orange.
How did you reach that conclusion? I'm just curious as everything indicated (if accurate) seems to point to the PIN already being associated with another BIS account.

I bought my BB curve 8310 from eBay and it is at&t Cingular. When I first bring to AIS service center, the person at the center check pin and IMEI of my BB on some database and I get the message saying that it has been registered with other service provider.

I found out later that such message is standard for what they call a 'non-blackberry' SIM. The technical person at AIS told me that if you do not have the blackberry service on yet, it is the message that you are going to get when checking with that database.

He suggested me on how to run the test, and he guide me through it for about half an hour to finally find out that my BB has not registered with any service provider. And it is now ready to use.

If your Blackberry is locked to Orange, you will have to buy an unlock code from someone like Horizon Wireless (http://www.horizonwirelessonline.com/cat/) to use it with a different provider. Then call your provider and make sure your account includes the Blackberry Internet Service plan for data. Once that is done, you should have no trouble registering.
