Hey guys, not sure if this has been posted and if it has I apologize. Just had to call T-Mo Blackberry support (had some data issues), and I was talking to the guy on the other end while my phone was rebooting after a battery pull. He's an enthusiastic Curve user, and told me that OS 4.5 should be out from T-Mobile officially "sometime in the next couple of weeks"... told me he's been using a finalized beta build of it for about a month now, and it works great (he raved about being able to capture video on his curve).

Again, if it's been posted before I apologize, but if not thought you'd be interested. :)

it is very unlikely he had a finalized build since in the last 30 days we have seen 6 builds or so. It will be nice to see, but i doubt the final version will be much/any different than the .42 thats been out.

I have no idea, just repeating what he told me. I personally will be happy since I prefer to just do the upgrade through T-Mo rather than the roundabout way. I've spent years hacking around with various phones / OS's, and am at the point where I just like stuff that works without thinking about it.

What is the "roundabout way"? Deleting the vendor.xml file?

Yes, and I realize that it's easy, I just don't care to bother with it anymore (I never really see a compelling reason to anymore).

What "just works" and what doesn't has more to do with the specific build and not the carrier in my experience.

true, but the carrier tends to be the one that says, "it's ready for prime time, at least for us". hence why a few carriers have already begun to officially issue 4.5 in various builds.

YAWNNNNNN yet another needless post of when 4.5 for TMO is gonna be released. The OP has no proof when 4.5 is gonna be released for TMO, he is going by a TMO tech support, who in my experience have no in depth knowledge of Blackberrys. Just to give you an example I called in today to inquire about BIS 2.5, and the rep HAD NO IDEA what BIS is, they said sir our latest OS is 4.2, we have never had 2.5:x

I would say when TMO does release it with will be 4.5.0.52

I wonder how long it'll take for the Bell Mob folks to do the upgrade on their 8330's

Anyone using 8320 with TMO, what version of the 4.5 are you using? Is there any major problems with it? I heard of people with SIM problems.

Thanks!

Aside from no UMA and the fried SIM cards?
