Do distribution lists work in blackberries?

I have a distribution list in Outlook that does not pick up on the blackberry. I create the message, type in the distribution list name and it tells me "not found" - although it does exist in my contacts. Is there something I am doing wrong?

My experience is that distro lists from outlook don't sync over to the BlackBerry. You'll need to create a "Group" in the BlackBerry Address Book.

If you are connected to a BES, you should be able to do a lookup for any public distribution lists. However, the device will not sync any dist. lists you created in your personal contacts list.

^^Correct also. I have to create them in both Outlook and BB to mirror each other. A pain, but works to easily to use them.

So JSanders in creating groups on both your device and Outlook you are saying that you have to move all individuals to the group like it asks you to on the BB device itself, that is painful.

Is there a better way of storing my vendors, family, etc. separately in Outlook then to accomodate the devices shortcomings?

I had to create the groups in both Outlook and on the BB, yes.

The pain is just getting them both correct. I did it, though, and I keep about 10 different groups.
