Works for me.
I know this was a BES 4.1.5 feature... but not sure if it also requires Handheld OS 4.5

got them both, where is the feature located on the device?

Go into Messages... click menu button... choose 'Search'

On the top of the Search screen, change the 'Search Type' to Remote.

A minute or two seems rather long.

I get results in a few seconds... but I only have a few hundred messages in my mailbox.
I suppose it could be dependent on how many messages you're searching through, and what your search parameters are.

it only brings 100 messages back, groups of 20 at a time. not sure if this can be changed or not

I have BES 4.1.6 and 8820 with 4.5.0.37 and it does not work. It returnes "No valid remote service found" after I try to switch from Local to Remote search. Anyone has same issue?
