I don't imagine that it will hit the markets near this price however. If you look at electronics European prices do not reflect American prices just simply converted. It will come into the market at the highest possible price that the market will pay. The exchange will just mean bigger profits.

That is a lot to be paying for just a phone. quite unreasonable even without a contract. but if people are willing to pay that much why not...

I agree. You can buy a full desktop computer for less then that and do a hell of lot more. A smartphone should cost no more then $500 - $600 without a contract.

Even the Q came out with a preproduction cost that was excessively high. That way when the 'real' initial price comes out consumers are all relieved and perceive it to be a bargain.
