hi all, i just recently purchased a previously owned blackberry 8707 that was with optus. im with 3 prepaid and i can make calls and msges but there is no option to use the internet and when i try to access it through other applications it says its not setup and to contact service provider.

just wondering if anyone has some easy steps to be able to get internet browser working or how to get it on my phone, i dont mind about email and such but more being able to access the internet.
thanks!!

Wirelessly posted

I think you'll need a data plan for you to have access to internet

You can't use pre-paid SIM cards with the BlackBerry for data usage.
You need an actual wireless account and a BlackBerry Data Plan provisioned from your provider.

It would only worth with a carrier that offers a blackberry specific data plan

No. You cannot use a Blackberry for Internet purposes on a prepaid plan. You will need a postpaid plan from a carrier to be able to access the data features.
