The mp3 folders/files have changed, some deleted and some added. However, the player has the same library as it used. How can I get it updated?

Thanks!

do a hard reset by pulling the battery while the power is on

Is that the only way? It's quite bad.

Do you have Media Card Encryption turned on?

I've got my media file encrypted and sometimes it can take a little while for my media player to update.

Agreed. It's bad. I find about 20% of the time, my media library either partially builds or doesn't build at all after a battery pull. Most of the time, the "Scanning" progress bar is stuck on the bottom of the screen, not moving at all.

To the best of my knowledge, the only way to force a re-scan is a battery pull. Hopefully this gets addressed. I am using the stereo bluetooth features more and more, and it stinks to have to do a battery pull and wait for reboot to get the library built correctly.

Does anyone know if this is addressed in OS 4.5? I am running 4.2

I havent had any issues so far with 4.5 but if the library does not update, the battery pull will fix it.

I have 4.2 and noticed it happening. Mostly I wait and the library eventually catches up. If I do not want to wait I do not need to do a battery pull. When it happens i turn the BB off for a few minutes.

You may want to consider moving everything in the library off the BB and into a fresh set of folders on the PC - clear every remnant from the BB - double check the status of the folder set on the PC - then resynch - the fresh fill should clean things up - or maybe screw them up - I'm never sure what to expect.
