Is there a way to NOT receive emails on your Blackberry as long as you have your computer email up and running?

Install BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
Configure it to "Disable Redirection while Handheld is Connected"
Keep the device connected to your computer via USB.

I have mine connected via USB and the Desktop Manager open and the "Disable mesasge redirection while your device is connected" is checked but I'm still receiving emails on the BB. What did I do wrong?
