Enhanced Text Messaging

I had an LG enV before I got this Verizon BlackBerry 8830. On my enV I could type something that was over 160 characters and it would use two text messages. With the Berry, I type 160 characters and it says field full. I was wondering if there is a fix for this? Thanks!

Sorry buddy but as far as I know, there's no way to change the character limit. Verizon has really crippled this phone, which is pretty sad.
