Fairly new to BB (2-3 months). Wanted to use my 8310 as modem for laptop but as i had it set up i couldn't get it to work. I used KB05196 as guide got the APN info from provider Centennial wireless, spent weekend off and on to get it to work with no luck. Called tech support and said I couldn't use as tethered. If i can get on thru blackberry itself why not? Really disappointed as i need access in the field. This a lack of knowlege of cus service or do i need another provider? Have to stay 6 mos. in contract.

I did visit the Berry FAQ before but after revisit saw a few things that I understand little better now to try. Did notice that Centennial Wireless was not listed yet. I will try a few more things that I saw there. Thanks folks I learn bunches reading this forum.

That's not always indicative of your ability to tether. Several carriers require that you add a tethering option/BB data plan to enable tethering.
