I called the Nextel store that I always take the phones to, to have them sent off to be fixed/replaced and explained the situation...
One of the users, somehow bent his SIM. Now his phone is very touchy and locks up a lot.
The girl at the store said "We don't sell Blackberry SIMs" so I asked her where can I get one, and she said she was going to check. She put me on hold for about 5 minutes and finally said "We don't know"
Thanks, real helpful. So I called the Corporate accounts line and they said only "Service Centers" carried them and they gave me the number of another Nextel store that was also a service center. I called them and this guy was even more clueless than the last! He said "Nextel doesn't sell SIMs, sorry"
OK....... Then why have I never had a problem going to a Cingular store or T-Mobile store and saying "I need a replacement SIM" and they sell me one, and program it on the spot?
I e-mailed our provisioning group at our corporate office and they said "The only way to get a new SIM is to order a new phone"
Surely this can't be. In real life, people drop their phones and SIMs fall out.
Really the problem isn't even that I need a SIM... I've got White Nextel SIMs out the wazoo from phones that we've shut off, and yellow SIMs from i205 phones that were never activated. I just need something to replace his SIM but I don't think Nextel is going to want to reactivate a SIM from an account that has been cancelled.
Suggestions?
