I must be missing sth really obvious. I like the cursor. But I can't find how to type in an input field such as a search box.

Thanks!

You likely have the OS where this was a known/discovered problem. You should upgrade your OS at your earliest opportunity however, there is a work around. I just don't recall what it is.

I have the A4.5.0.37_Vodafone_Dialog_(Sri_Lanka)

The newer version does not have the language support I need.

Wirelessly posted (8100 Pearl)

Then earlier 4.5 versions did not do web text entry very well. The newest one is much better and with a little practice allows you to enter and exit text entry areas very easily.

There's been a lot of talk about a bug. Here's what I've experience and I think this seems like good behavior.

When you click in a text field, the cursor changes to an I-bar and is locked in the field. Clicking again unlocks you from the field and changes the cursor back.

On some forms, clicking is not necessary (simply hovering the pointer over the field is enough). However, for using the trackball to move WITHIN the field, you do need to click.
