search for contacts

Any help appreciated here,
I use a Pearl 8100 and use the filters quite a lot for contacts and tasks. After doing something either on my phone or in Outlook, I can no longer type in a contact name into my phone and find the contact. For example I'd type in 'smith' and find all contacts witht that name, be it a personal or business contact as long as it had smith in the name. None of my filters are on or ticked on the contacts in the phone (which I thought was causing the problem). I don't use BES.

Anyone?

I have the same problem. Newer phone. Used to work but now it doesn't find any of my contacts by typing in letters in the find field. Wha' pen?

Always, first off, remove your battery on the device a few seconds, replace and reboot the BB. See if anything changes.
